This past weekend I was honored to photograph a wedding for my friends Leon and Andrew. Without getting into too much political commentary on it I will just say that it was because of this couple that I changed my views on gay marriage drastically many years ago and I was so honored to be chosen to capture the memories of their very special day.
Leon and Andrew have been together for eight years - more than most married couples that I know. They are truly best friends, genuinely good people and a ton of fun to be around. Their wedding was harvest themed, as they are farmers, and the design was done by Phillip Rice - the most dedicated and creative designer that I've had the pleasure of working with thus far. Every detail was absolutely incredible and the overall look of the wedding was a stunning site.
The bridal party was not divided but all stood as one group behind the couple as they exchanged vows. The women wore green dresses and the men wore smart khaki pants with navy jackets. Every corner was adorned with piles and piles of pumpkins and other seasonal squash as well as incredible flower arrangements. The most breathtaking detail in my opinion was the long farm style table which seated all 160 guests in one linear arrangement. There were chandeliers above each table and beautiful vases with floral arrangements in vivid fall colors.
